Remembrance Day – November 11

On November 11th, we honor those who gave their lives in service to our country. Across Canada, people will reflect on the tragedy of war and the hope of peace. Communities will hold memorials, and many will stand in silence and lay wreaths to remember the fallen.

Indigenous peoples have a proud history of military service. Around 12,000 First Nations, Métis, and Inuit individuals served in major conflicts, with over 500 making the ultimate sacrifice. Their contributions continue to be recognized and respected.
