On Friday, January 13, Maywood students and staff will be recognizing Black Excellence Day. The goal of this day is to raise awareness, uplift and bring hope to not only Black people but all racialized and non-racialized people. Designed as a learning opportunity and celebration of Black achievements, story, art, people, joy, love and history, this day coincides with the last weekday before the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
