Recent News Westcoast Recess Posted by maywoodadmin on September 11, 2022 At Maywood, we believe in taking the learning outdoors. Fresh air and unstructured time to play is important for children’s physical and social development. Living on the westcoast means that we often have rainy weather. Students will be playing and connecting to peers for at least 45 minutes each day rain or shine. Students are better able to learn and play in the outdoors when they are prepared for the weather. Please ensure that your child is dressed for the weather every day (ie. boots, rain gear hats/hoods, gloves, warm clothes for cooler days and sunscreen, hats and closed toe shoes for sunny weather, etc). We encourage all students to bring a change of clothes to leave at school in case their clothes get wet. If you are in need of support with winter gear, please contact our community office.
